44 and 34
Forty-four is the age of a friend of ours who recently died after a 2-year battle with cancer. She leaves behind a husband and two daughters. Thirty-four is the age of my wife who is currently debilitated due to recent gastrointestinal surgery, unexplained arthralgia in her knees, and life-threatening blood clots. Carpe diem, people.

Indeed. If you watched any of the Ryder Cup this weekend, you could not escape the news that Irish golfer Darren Clarke's wife died six weeks ago from cancer at the age of 39. I still have a hard time with the loss of a friend of ours who died of leukemia three years ago. He was a little older (around 50), but it was still too soon.
Hang in there.
Chris, just wanted to let you know that I'm praying for Cynthia (and you).
